Cameron T. Whitley and Eleanor A. Hubbard, the co-editors of

Trans-Kin: A Guide for Family and Friends of Transgender People
are long-time friends and colleagues. They collaborated on this book
because they saw a need that they wanted to fill.
Cameron, a transgender man, is currently working on his Ph.D. in
Sociology at Michigan State University.
Eleanor, an ally of the transgender community, is a Senior Instructor
Emerita in the Department of Sociology at the University of Colorado
Both Cameron and Eleanor are well-informed on transgender issues,
have extensive experience working for inclusive and equity through
non-profits and social activism, and enjoy speaking time with their
family, dogs and friends.
In 2013, the editors of Trans-Kin have presented at Midwest Bisexual
Lesbian Transgender Ally College Conference, Gold Rush, Skagit
Valley Human Rights Festival, TransForming Gender and Gender
